Qualifications

• 0–5 years of litigation experience; newly admitted attorneys are encouraged to apply.
• Willingness to appear in court frequently and handle casework with supervision.
• Strong writing skills and the ability to independently draft clear litigation documents.
• Familiarity with various litigation procedures and case management tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage an active docket of civil litigation matters from intake through resolution.
• Appear regularly in courts for conferences, motions, hearings, and trials.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands and responses, affidavits, stipulations, and orders.
• Handle motion practice and contested proceedings, including opposition and reply papers.
• Conduct discovery, including document demands, depositions, subpoenas, and asset investigations.
• Pursue judgment recovery and post-judgment enforcement, including bank restraints and garnishments.
• Monitor bankruptcy filings and handle related issues such as proofs of claim and stay questions.
• Negotiate settlements and payment arrangements with opposing parties and counsel.
• Communicate with institutional and commercial clients regarding case status and strategy.
• Work with paralegals and support staff to keep cases moving efficiently and grow supervision over time.

You'll work closely with a team that thrives on problem-solving and innovation with the ability to own cases through the full lifecycle. This role is ideal for a newly admitted attorney looking for real courtroom experience early in their career, or an attorney with up to five years of practice who wants to manage a meaningful caseload.

This is an hybrid position after 90 days with 4 days in office or in court. Compensation is competitive and depends on experience. Salary range between $90,000 to $150,000 and merit based bonus eligibility.

Responsibilities:

• Manage an active docket of civil litigation matters from intake through resolution
• Appear regularly in courts for conferences, motions, hearings, and trials
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands and responses, affidavits, stipulations, proposed orders, and other litigation documents for the matters you manage
• Handle motion practice and contested proceedings, including opposition and reply papers
• Conduct discovery, including document demands, depositions, information subpoenas, and asset investigation
• Pursue judgment recovery and post-judgment enforcement, including bank restraints, levies, executions, garnishments, and judgment domestication
• Monitor bankruptcy filings affecting active matters and handle related issues such as proofs of claim, automatic stay questions, and creditor remedies
• Negotiate settlements and payment arrangements with opposing parties and counsel
• Communicate directly with institutional and commercial clients regarding case status, strategy, and outcomes
• Work closely with paralegals and support staff to keep cases moving efficiently, with growing supervisory responsibility as you gain experience
• Contribute ideas for improving case strategy, workflows, and recovery results

Requirements and SKILLs:

• Admission to the New York Bar. New Jersey bar admission is a strong plus
• 0–5 years of litigation experience; newly admitted attorneys are encouraged to apply
• A genuine interest in courtroom work and a willingness to appear in court frequently
• Strong writing skills and the ability to independently draft clear, effective litigation documents
• Prior exposure to collections, creditors' rights, or commercial litigation is a plus but not required
• Familiarity with the New York CPLR (including Article 52) and New Jersey court procedures is a plus; we'll provide training
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines across a high volume of matters
• Comfort working in a technology-driven environment with case management systems
• Professional, confident communication with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
• A practical, results-oriented approach to litigation
• Ability to pass applicable background and reference checks
• Willingness to work onsite 4 days a week or in court as needed for client service
