Job description

Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced Remote-Centered environment with variety in your work?

The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is seeking two dynamic Attorney IIIs who will work as part of a team to represent the Insurance Commissioner in all phases of the investigation and civil prosecution of persons and business entities who commit insurance fraud in the state of California.

These incumbents interact with state and federal agencies, consumer advocacy groups, whistleblower counsel, and the state and federal judiciary and is responsible for investigating and prosecuting complex civil suits brought by the Insurance Commissioner authorized by the IFPA.

As part of our legal team, you will:

  • Investigate and prosecute complex healthcare and insurance fraud cases under the Insurance Frauds Prevention Act
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, whistleblower counsel, and other stakeholders to build strong cases and drive strategic legal outcomes
  • Manage all phases of litigation — from discovery and motion practice to trial, appeals, and regulatory recommendations

These positions are headquartered in Sacramento or Oakland, with full telework available.
