Job summary

ABA Search, Inc. seeks a Senior Manager of Attorney Career Counseling to lead a new firmwide program with a hybrid work setup across major U.S. markets. You will advise attorneys on career moves, coach resumes and interview skills, and build partnerships with alumni, clients, and recruiters.

You will supervise a team, shape the counseling program, and provide strategic insights to leadership while expanding opportunities for lawyers through panels and workshops.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in attorney development, career counseling, or related fields.
• 2+ years of exempt or management experience in the applicable area.
• Experience advising lawyers on career transitions, including in-house moves.
• Familiarity with legal markets, legal operations, and hiring needs.
• Strong written and verbal communication with high emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the newly created career counseling office and guide attorneys' next steps.
• Provide confidential one-on-one advising on in-house, public sector, or alternative paths.
• Coach resumes, LinkedIn profiles, personal narratives, and job-search strategy.
• Conduct mock interviews across screening to senior-level negotiations.
• Manage and grow a curated job board; build relationships with recruiters and alumni.
• Create career-focused panels, webinars, and workshops with alumni and clients.
• Support the secondment program by coordinating secondees and resources.
• Collaborate with marketing to connect departing attorneys with alumni resources.
• Track hiring trends and share insights with firm leadership; report metrics.
• Supervise and mentor direct reports, including staffing and performance reviews.
