Cooley LLP is seeking a Senior Manager of Career Counseling to build and lead the Career Counseling Office within the Professional Development team. This role will support attorneys exploring career paths beyond Cooley, offering personalized job-search guidance, resume and narrative feedback, mock interview practice, and connections to external opportunities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in one or more of: attorney professional development, career counselling or coaching, attorney recruiting, in-house or law firm practice.
• Experience advising lawyers on career transitions, including in-house moves.
• Knowledge of legal markets and corporate hiring needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide confidential advising to attorneys exploring roles outside the firm (in-house, public sector, nonprofit, or alternative paths).
• Guide career exploration, decision-making, and transition planning for attorneys.
