The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) seeks an Attorney-Advisor at the GS-0905-12/13 level to join the Advice, Audits and External Reports Division (AAERD) within the Office of Communications and Legislative Affairs (OCLA).

Qualifications

• For GS-12: must have JD/LL.B from ABA-accredited law school, active Bar, 1 year of professional legal experience (GS-11 level).
• For GS-13: must have JD/LL.B from ABA-accredited law school, active Bar, 2 years of professional legal experience (GS-12 level).
• Second professional law degree (LL.M) may substitute for one year of experience; third degree (J.S.D) may substitute for one year beyond LL.M.

Responsibilities

• Advises the OCLA Director, OCLA Associate Director, and AAERD Director on policy and legal matters as they relate to applicable federal statutes and regulation.
• Assists in the development, administration, coordination, and execution of plans, policies, and procedures for the division.
• Assists in the overall effective discharge of OCLA functions.
• Briefs the OCLA Director, OCLA Associate Director, and AAERD Director on legal issues, including legal review of outreach and training materials.
• Provides legal interpretations and recommendations on strategies and approaches to matters that are highly sensitive and of a critical nature.
• Proposes, implements and assists, from a legal standpoint, in the management of Commission plans for accountability reports and audits within OCLA’s jurisdiction, including reports and audits conducted by the Government Accountability Office.
