This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT, applications will be accepted until November 13, 2026 or until vacancies are filled. This position is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Administration (OA), Office of General Counsel (OGC). The General Counsel is the Chief Legal Officer for OA. OGC provides the full range of legal advice and services to officials of OA.
All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standards.
Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria listed below in order to meet the basic requirement for Attorney-Advisor (General) Open Continuous, 0905.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Law (LL.B), Master of Law (LL.M), or Juris Doctor (J.D.) law degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA). (Must submit a copy of your transcripts with the degree conferred date, failure to do will result in an incomplete application.)
Applicants must be an active member in good standing with the bar of the highest court of a state, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia, and must hold a current, unrestricted license to practice law.
AND
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector that demonstrates conducting complex legal analysis and drafting legal documents as an attorney in one or more of the following practice areas: federal labor and employment law.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector that demonstrates making recommendations on policies, analyzing and evaluating complex legal issues, and advising senior leadership on legal matters as an attorney in one or more of the following practice areas: federal labor and employment law.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector that demonstrates providing complex legal advice, performing legal research, drafting legal documents, and handling litigation, as an attorney in one or more of the following practice areas: federal labor and employment law.
Expertise in federal labor and employment law experience preferred.
