Job summary

The Office of General Counsel of the U.S. Marshals Service in Arlington, Virginia, is seeking an experienced attorney to provide legal services and guidance across USMS missions, pursuant to 28 USC 566 and delegated by the Attorney General.

Candidates must hold a J.D., be an active bar member, and bring at least five years of post‑J.D. experience, including substantial administrative labor and employment litigation experience before EEOC, MSPB, FLRA, arbitrations, and federal courts.

Job description

The Office of General Counsel (OGC) provides legal services and guidance to all components of the USMS in matters that arise in the conduct of USMS missions pursuant to 28 USC 566, and as delegated by the Attorney General.

Applicants must have a J.D. degree, be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction), and have at least 5 years post-J.D. experience, including substantial experience in handling administrative labor and employment litigation matters, before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Merit Systems Protection Board, Federal Labor Relations Authority and arbitrations through hearing and appeals, as well as in federal court.
