Job summary

Marine Corps Recruiting seeks aspiring JAG officers for 0-3L law students to serve as commissioned officers and licensed attorneys. The role offers early responsibility in criminal, administrative, and operational law with courtroom exposure and leadership opportunities.

Primary duties include trial counsel or defense in courts-martial, legal advice to commanders, appellate representation, and support on ethics, regulatory matters. LL.M. opportunities may be funded by the Marine Corps.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or graduated from an ABA accredited law school (0-3L students qualified).
• LSAT 150+ (unless licensed member of a state bar, U.S territory, or DC, and have graduated from an ABA accredited law school).
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to meet military commissioning requirements.
• Undergraduate GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• Criminal litigation.
• Operational and international law.
• Environmental, labor, and contract law.
• Legal assistance and civil law.
• Advanced education (LL.M. opportunities funded by the Marine Corps).
