This hands-on role favors ownership of cases, strong motion practice, and practical problem-solving in fast-moving defense matters. Hybrid schedule with a preference for on-site collaboration and flexibility for hybrid arrangements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of civil litigation experience focused on insurance defense (auto, trucking, premises liability, and related matters).
• Active Texas bar license in good standing.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Strong litigation fundamentals, including motion practice, discovery management, and case strategy.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day case responsibilities across active litigation files, from initial evaluation through resolution.
• Draft and respond to pleadings, written discovery, and substantive motions.
• Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses in coordination with the litigation team.
• Handle hearings, mediations, and settlement strategy; support trial preparation as cases progress.
• Maintain clear client and carrier communication and provide practical case assessments.

This is a hands-on litigation role suited to an attorney who enjoys ownership of cases, strong motion practice, and practical problem-solving in fast-moving defense matters.

Compensation:

$90,000 to $170,000 base salary (commensurate with experience).

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years of civil litigation experience focused on insurance defense (auto, trucking, premises liability, and related matters).
• Active Texas bar license in good standing.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Strong litigation fundamentals, including motion practice, discovery management, and case strategy.

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

• Experience level closer to 10 years for more senior consideration.
• Trial experience (jury or bench).
• Prior trucking or commercial transportation defense exposure.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• No formal billable minimum, with an expectation of approximately 2,000 hours.
• Bonuses available for exceeding 2,000 hours.
