Job summary

Mission Recruiting, LLC is seeking a civil litigator to own matters from intake through resolution at a well-regarded litigation boutique, with real courtroom time.

You’ll manage a docket with rising independence, draft and argue motions, conduct discovery, take and defend depositions, and maintain direct client contact in a hybrid role based in San Ramon, CA. The base salary is $160,000–$250,000+ DOE, with a 1,600 hour billable target and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3-8+ years of civil litigation experience, ideally in business and/or real estate disputes.
• Hands-on experience with discovery, law and motion practice, legal writing, and depositions.
• J.D. from an accredited law school and active California Bar membership in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Manage cases from intake through pleadings, discovery, motion practice, settlement, and trial.
• Draft and argue dispositive motions, oppositions, and other substantive pleadings in state and federal courts.
• Conduct and manage all phases of discovery, including taking and defending depositions.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, mediations, and trial, and attend hearings and case management conferences.
• Work directly with clients, providing practical, business-oriented advice.

If you're a civil litigator who wants genuine ownership of your matters rather than sitting behind a partner, this opportunity offers the chance to handle business and real estate disputes from intake through resolution at a well-regarded litigation boutique, with real courtroom time and a clear path to first- or second-chair trial experience.

What's in it for you? What You'll Bring

• 3-8+ years of civil litigation experience, ideally in business and/or real estate disputes
• Hands-on experience with discovery, law and motion practice, legal writing, and depositions
• Prior experience at a respected litigation boutique, regional firm, or major law firm strongly preferred
• Trial experience preferred; first- or second-chair experience a strong plus
• J.D. from an accredited law school and active California Bar membership in good standing

The Role

• Partner with firm leadership on litigation strategy and case management
• The position is hybrid, based in San Ramon, CA, with two remote days and flexibility. The annual billable-hours target is 1,600 hours.
• Medical (Aetna), dental (Healthnet), and vision (Healthnet/EyeMed) coverage, with the firm covering $1,500/month toward premiums
• Short- and long-term disability coverage, eligible 30 days from start (STD: 60% of salary up to $1,500/week; LTD: 60% up to $5,000/month)
