Job summary

Magendzo Law in Valley Stream, NY seeks an organized Associate Attorney to manage personal injury cases from intake to resolution, draft pleadings, conduct research, and keep clients informed throughout the process.

The role offers a salary of $120,000–$130,000 annually, in-office with occasional remote opportunities, plus a health stipend, generous PTO, a 401(k) match, and mentorship from experienced partners.

Qualifications

• A JD degree & admission to and good standing with the New York Bar.
• 1+ year of Associate Attorney experience (litigation not required).
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to manage multiple cases.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Bonus: 1+ year of personal injury experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage personal injury cases from intake through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other documents.
• Conduct legal research and case analysis to support strategy.
• Communicate regularly with clients with clear updates.
• Participate in litigation including depositions, hearings and court appearances.
• Negotiate with insurers/oppose counsel for favorable outcomes.

• In-office role with flexibility for occasional remote work
• A monthly health insurance stipend will be provided, if needed
• 18 PTO days + firm-observed holidays (both federal and Jewish holidays)
• 401(k) is available after 90 days. Company matches 100% of the first 1% and 50% of the next 4%
• 5% bonus after one year of employment
• Hands-on mentorship and training from experienced partners

• Conduct legal research and case analysis to support the case strategy
• Communicate regularly with clients, providing clear updates and guidance

• Negotiate with insurance companies/opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes

Requirements:

• A JD degree & admission to and good standing with the New York Bar
• 1+ year of experience as an Associate Attorney (litigation experience not required)
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple cases
• An ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Bonus Experience:

• 1+ year of personal injury experience
