Pillinger Miller Tarallo, LLP in the New York Metro Area seeks an experienced Premises General Liability Attorney to join our insurance defense group. You will defend premises liability matters, manage cases from inception through trial, and deliver high-quality advocacy for our clients.

The ideal candidate holds a JD, NY Bar admission, 3+ years of defense experience, and strong written/verbal communication, as well as proficiency in legal research tools and case management systems.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in premises/general liability defense litigation.
• Strong litigation and case management skills.
• Proven trial or trial-prep experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and case management systems.

Responsibilities

• Defend premises liability matters for owners, managers, and businesses.
• Independently manage a full caseload through trial or settlement.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and settlements.
• Conduct depositions, site inspections, and legal research.
• Attend court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.

Insurance Defense Attorney – Premises Liability & General Liability

New York Metro Area law firm with a national presence is seeking an experienced Premises General Liability Attorney to join our expanding insurance defense practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defending premises liability cases involving bodily injury claims, property damage, and related litigation. You will be responsible for handling cases from inception through resolution or trial, delivering high‑quality legal representation to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Defend property owners, management companies, and businesses in premises liability matters, including slip/trip and fall claims, negligent security, and building code violations.
• Independently manage a full caseload from inception through trial or settlement.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and settlement agreements.
• Conduct depositions, site inspections, and legal research.
• Attend court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Collaborate with clients, insurance carriers, and internal teams to develop case strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of New York laws and procedures relevant to general liability claims.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar and in good standing.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in premises/general liability defense litigation.
• Strong litigation and case management skills.
• Proven trial or trial‑prep experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and case management systems.

Preferred:

• Admission in additional jurisdictions (e.g., NJ, CT, PA) is a plus.
• Experience with high‑exposure and complex litigation cases.
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills.

Job Type:

Full-time (Hybrid work schedule available)

Salary Range:

$110,000 - $175,000 per year, commensurate with experience
