Portnoff Law Associates, Ltd. in King of Prussia, PA, seeks an attorney to join a team handling the collection of unpaid municipal obligations. You will review and sign pleadings, and manage written and telephone communications with clients, counsel, and property owners to advance cases.

Qualified candidates hold a Pennsylvania JD and preferably have litigation or collection experience. This full-time role offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth.

• Know and apply the relevant federal and state laws, including but not limited to Municipal Claims and Tax Liens Act, 53 P.S. § 7101, et seq., the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1692, et seq., and the Fair Credit Extension Uniformity Act, 73 P.S. § 2270, et seq.

Responsibilities

• Review files to ensure that statutory service of all documents and pleadings has been met.
• Review and sign pleadings. Resolve any issues where pleadings are not ready to be filed.
• Communicate with clients, counsel and property owners by phone and/or email as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Established in 1989, Portnoff Law Associates, Ltd. (PLA) is a law firm that limits its practice to the collection of unpaid real estate taxes and municipal utility fees. PLA represents more than 200 municipal clients throughout Pennsylvania, with offices in King of Prussia and Allentown. Its objective is to make it easy for people to pay their taxes and fees.

Job Summary:

Attorney will work as part of a team which includes other lawyers and legal assistants to collect unpaid municipal obligations. Attorney will review and sign pleadings and handle written and phone communications to clients, counsel and property owners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review files to ensure that statutory service of all documents and pleadings has been met.
• Review and sign pleadings. Resolve any issues where pleadings are not ready to be filed.
• Communicate with clients, counsel and property owners by phone and/or email as needed.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience

• JD with Pennsylvania License.
• Litigation or collection experience preferred
