Job summary

Ascendion is seeking an experienced attorney to join a well-established law firm with a strong litigation practice. This hybrid role focuses on construction defect litigation, with trucking/transportation experience preferred, offering the chance to manage complex matters from inception to resolution.

You will work with a collaborative legal team to develop strategies, handle motions, depositions, mediations, and trials, and draft pleadings and discovery responses.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of litigation experience, preferably in construction defect matters.
• Excellent legal writing and advocacy skills.
• Trial experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle a broad range of construction defect litigation matters, with trucking/transportation matters preferred.
• Manage cases from inception through resolution, including discovery, depositions, motions, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
• Develop litigation strategies in collaboration with clients, experts, insurance carriers, and internal teams.
• Evaluate liability, exposure, damages, and case strategy with timely assessments.

Job description

We’re seeking an experienced Attorney to join a well-established law firm with a strong litigation practice. This is a hybrid opportunity focused on construction defect litigation, and trucking/transportation experience is preferred. The role offers the opportunity to handle complex litigation matters while working with a collaborative and high-performing legal team.

This position is ideal for an attorney with strong construction litigation skills who is comfortable managing cases from inception through resolution and, preferably, has experience handling trucking and transportation matters.

• Handle a broad range of construction defect litigation matters, with trucking/transportation matters preferred.
• Manage cases from inception through resolution, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
• Develop litigation strategies in collaboration with clients, experts, insurance carriers, and internal legal teams.
• Evaluate liability, exposure, damages, and case strategy while providing timely assessments and recommendations.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery responses, correspondence, and other legal documents.

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• 2+ years of litigation experience, preferably in construction defect matters.
• Strong experience handling construction defect litigation.
• Trucking/transportation litigation experience is preferred.
• Excellent legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Trial experience is a plus.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual base salary for this position is between $150,000 - $220,000, depending on experience. Factors that may affect compensation include experience, qualifications, skills, and overall fit for the role.
