Qualifications

• 0–5+ years of experience in workers’ compensation law (defense preferred).
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently.

Seeking Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney who manages a caseload of workers’ compensation claims, providing legal representation from inception through resolution, located in Bristol, TN, which is very close to Southwest VA.

• The role involves litigating cases before administrative law judges, advising clients on case strategies, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Represent employers and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation claims before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, trial preparation, and hearings.
• Evaluate case strengths, settlement value, and exposure to advise clients.
• Draft legal documents, including motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
• Conduct legal research and stay current with statutory and case law developments.
• Attend hearings, mediations, and depositions.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel.
• Maintain and manage case files and deadlines.
• Communicate with clients, medical providers, witnesses, and experts.

Qualifications -

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing with the VA Bar
• 0–5+ years of experience in workers’ compensation law (defense preferred)
• Strong litigation and negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently.
