Job description

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential functions of this position satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and / or abilities required. This is considered a safety sensitive position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
  1. Performs installation and repair of temporary and permanent crash cushions.
  2. Responsible for the loading and unloading of trucks, delivery and pickup of equipment and supplies.
  3. Responsible for the completion of all attenuator service requests as assigned.
  4. Must be able to perform all safety sensitive activities as required by the company.
  5. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays if scheduled or called. Must carry a company cell phone as required for on-call maintenance.
  6. Able to set up and operate hammer drills, grinders, impact wrenches, and/or other tools necessary to complete tasks.
  7. Complete all required paperwork including accident reports, payroll time sheets, and mileage reimbursement and submit to supervisor as determined.
  8. Maintain a professional courteous manner with all residents, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
  9. Ensure safety standards and environmental requirements are used to comply with all company, local, City, State, and Federal guidelines.
  10. Ensure compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.
  11. Follow established company policies.
  12. Have the ability to work in confined/limited work zones exposed to motoring traffic up to and including high rates of speed.
  13. Work in designated work zones which may involve exposure to harsh weather elements such as extreme heat and cold for extended periods.
  14. Work in hazard zones including nighttime work utilizing external lighting.
  15. This position requires considerable driving and frequent safe exiting and entering the highway traffic pattern.
  16. Engage in special projects and other responsibilities as may be determined.
  17. Perform any other duties as assigned as needed.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE :
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic math.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and procedures.
  • The ability to apply knowledge and skills to achieve intended results.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Must be 21 years or older to be a company sanctioned driver due to insurance purposes.
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening including background check, drug screen, and Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Knowledge of, and experience working with, hand tools preferred.
  • Previous maintenance and/or construction experience desirable.
  • Assembly experience a plus.
  • The physical ability to respond immediately to emergency situations is required.
