Job summary

Bally's in Alaska is seeking a Deli Clerk to maintain cleanliness and order in the deli, operate a POS, stock supplies, and portion and package products for guests.

You will handle cash, follow cash handling procedures, and work a variety of shifts including holidays and weekends while upholding safety standards and providing a positive guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the Deli, utensils, cooking devices and counter areas.
• Operate a cash register or POS system and receive payments from guests, issue receipts, and provide correct change.
• Follow the company’s cash handling procedures.
• Stock condiments and supplies for guests and deli area.
• Fill, maintain and rotate products and displays.
• Select and package products ordered by guests.
• Handle damaged and spoiled products according to policy and assist in controlling spoilage.
• Assist in receiving and unloading merchandise; verify deliveries against invoices.
• Notify management of low inventory or spoilage problems.
• Comply with safety policies and procedures.
• Operate cash registers, slicers, ovens, fryers, microwaves, cutting tools, scales and other deli equipment including coffee/espresso machines.
• Stand and walk for prolonged periods (7+ hours).
• Follow the Company Service Standards model.
• Be available for regularly scheduled work and a variety of hours, holidays, and weekends.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the Deli, utensils, cooking devices and counter areas.
• Must operate a cash register or POS system and receives payments of cash, credit/debit cards from guests making change and issuing receipts to guests.
• Must understand and follow the company’s cash handling procedures.
• Ensure condiments and supplies are stocked for guests and deli area.
• Filling, maintaining and rotating products and displays.
• Selecting and packaging products ordered by guests.
• Handle damaged and spoiled products according to the company’s policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods.
• Assist in receiving and unloading of merchandise. Check and verify receiving to ensure that items listed on vendor invoices are all delivered. Check products for quality, count, and condition.
• Ensure Manager is aware of low inventory conditions or spoilage problems.
• Comply fully with the company’s safety policies and procedures.
• Operating cash registers, meat and cheese slicers, oven, fryer, microwave, cutting tools, scale, and other Deli equipment including the coffee and espresso machines.
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolong periods of time (7+ hours).
• Always follow the Company Service Standards model.
• Must be available for regularly scheduled work and be able to work a variety of hours, holidays, and weekends.
• Other duties may be assigned at any time.

Work Environment:

The Casino industry is a 24 Hour 365-day operation. This position will primarily be indoors under controlled temperatures. Occasional exposure to outdoor climates.

Target Salary Range:

Hourly $13.00
