Job summary

First Mid Bancshares, Inc. is seeking an ATM & Cash Operations Specialist I to support daily ATM, ITM, card and cash processing in Mattoon, Illinois.

The role focuses on timely issue intake, ticket follow-up, and basic operational support for ATM workflows. Key responsibilities include monitoring emails and tickets, daily income reporting, reviewing deposits for fraud, balancing on campus ATMs, and coordinating with branches and service providers to resolve issues promptly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or related banking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, review, and respond to inbox emails, tickets, routing questions, and issues for timely resolution.
• Complete daily income reporting and tracking for financial monitoring and reconciliation.
• Review ATM deposits for fraud, place holds, adjust deposits, and reject invalid checks.
• Balance and settle campus ATMs with research and follow-up.
• Monitor ATM fleet for outages and issues; elevate as needed.
• Place ATM service tickets and follow up on status.
• Communicate with branches and armored car services about ATM issues.
• Track errors in the department spreadsheet and follow up on issues.
• Run transactions and complete daily processing tasks per procedures.
• Assist with ATM withdrawal/deposit outage investigations and share findings.
• Assist with daily cash forecasting reports.
• Manage user access changes and verify updates.
• Create/update procedures to maintain documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The ATM & Cash Operations Specialist I supports daily ATM, ITM, card support, cash support, ticket handling, and routine balancing activities. This role focuses on timely issue intake, accurate processing, service ticket follow-up, and basic operational support for ATM and cash-related workflows.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Monitor, review, assign, and respond to inbox emails, tickets, routing questions, and issues to ensure timely resolution.
• Complete daily income reporting and tracking to support accurate financial monitoring and reconciliation.
• Review ATM deposits for suspicious or fraudulent activity, placing holds when appropriate, making necessary deposit adjustments, and rejecting invalid or fraudulent checks to mitigate risk and ensure accurate processing.
• Balance and settleon campusATMs, including required research, documentation, and follow-up.
• Monitor the ATM fleet for routine outages, basic service issues, and exception activity; elevate issues as needed.
• Place ATM service tickets with maintenance providers and follow up on routine ticket status updates.
• Send follow-up communications to branches, and armored carriers regarding ATM service issues, including no withdrawals or ATMs not serviced correctly.
• Track errors in the department spreadsheet, send follow-up emails for identified issues, and open claims when directed.
• Run transactions and complete assigned daily processing tasks in accordance with established procedures.
• Assist with researching ATM withdrawal and deposit outages and share findings with the appropriate teams to support timely resolution.
• Assist with the daily cash forecasting reports.
• Oversee or system user changes/removals and verify access updates are completed appropriately.
• Create and update procedures as assigned to help maintain accurate department documentation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or related banking experience preferred.
• Banking operations, card operations, cash operations, or customer support experience preferred.

Skills:

• Ability to follow procedures and meet daily deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Basic problem solving and issue escalation.
• Ability to manage multiple tickets, emails, and routine priorities.
