Job summary

Air Transport International (ATI) seeks a detail-oriented Safety Administrator to maintain the safety reporting database and related tracking systems under the Manager of Safety. You will help schedule meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and produce routine safety communications.

The role requires a high school diploma, independence, and strong MS Office skills with an orientation to aviation safety. Exposure to FAA regulations and a collaborative team environment is expected at ATI.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

  • Detail oriented with ability to prioritize multiple objectives.
  • Able to read and understand general regulations and technical procedures.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and computer databases.
  • Preferred: OSHA 30 General Industry, aviation safety knowledge.

  • Process all safety reports (Event, ASAP) per dept. procedures.
  • Assist Mgr of Safety in facilitating ASAP ERC meetings; prepare agendas & minutes.
  • Track open reports and corrective actions per procedures.
  • Assist Mgr of Safety to prepare monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Maintain safety reporting database user access and privileges.
  • Assist in communicating safety report information within ATI.
  • Assist in publication of the Quarterly Company newsletter.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Manager of Safety.

Purpose
  1. 1. Maintain the airline safety reporting database (ProSafeT), and the associated tracking database(s) for all safety reports (Event, ASAP, etc.) under the direction of the Manager of Safety.
  2. 2. Maintain tracking documents associated with Safety related information under the direction of the Manager of Safety.
  3. 3. Assist the Manager of Safety in facilitating document management and scheduling of meetings (ERC, Training, etc.).
  4. 4. Assist the Manager of Safety in facilitating Safety Training briefings and associated training records.
  5. 5. File and retain required reports (Bird Strike, Laser Strike, etc.) in accordance with Dept. Procedures.
  6. 6. Assist the Manager of Safety in preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports/communications.
  7. 7. Other duties as directed by the Manager of Safety.

  • Assist Mgr of Safety with publication of the Quarterly Company newsletter.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Manager of Safety.
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be able to work independently and use independent discretion and judgment.
  • Detail oriented characteristics with an ability to prioritize multiple objectives in a dynamic environment with constantly shifting priorities.
  • Able to read and understand general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations, e.g., applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Possess a working knowledge of MS Office and Computer databases.
Preferred Job Skills
  • Prefer Microsoft Excel familiarity
  • Member of Safety or Audit/Evaluation Association
  • 30-Hour OSHA General Industry Safety and Health
  • FAA Pilots or Dispatch License or an Airframe & Power plant (A&P) desired
  • Experience and/or education in aviation safety investigations with experience or training in Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP)
  • Two years of equivalent level Flight Operations, Ground Operations, Maintenance, or Safety experience or Associates degree in Business or Aviation.
Physical Requirements
  • Employees are regularly required to, stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
  • Comply with ATI attendance requirements
  • Sitting for long periods in front of a computer, lifting 30 lbs., kneeling, crouching, stooping, climbing of stairs or ladders, balancing, reaching, handling, working at a height of 20 feet, exposure to various inclement environmental conditions (Station Observations).
