Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Athletics Office seeks an Assistant Athletic Director for Major Gifts to secure substantial philanthropy for athletic priorities. You will manage a portfolio of ~90–125 high-capacity donors, including capital projects, endowments, and program initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field or equivalent experience.
• Advanced degree in related field preferred.
• Experience in athletics development or donor relations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gift prospects.
• Manage a portfolio of 90–125 donors with $50k+ capacity.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop donor engagement strategies.
• Prepare proposals, gift agreements and naming opportunities.
• Travel to support donor cultivation at events and games.
• Provide stewardship reporting and donor recognition aligned with gift level.
