The New Jersey Department of Children and Families is looking for a Lead Facilities Assistant to support the management of athletic facilities at VCU. This hourly role involves event management, preparation, and compliance oversight, requiring flexibility and strong communication skills. The Lead Facilities Assistant for Athletics will help fulfill the VCU Athletics Mission Statement by assisting the facilities and events department. The Lead Assistant will gain facility and event management knowledge while experiencing NCAA Division I athletics. This position involves assisting during athletic and non-athletic events, setting up and breaking down equipment, and providing after-hours coverage of facilities. Lead Assistants should be familiar with facility policies, procedures, and risk management practices.
The weekly work hours depend on the athletic and special event schedule. Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director for Facilities & Event Management, this role requires a flexible schedule, a positive attitude towards work and clients, and willingness to learn and adapt.
Lifting <50 lbs, pushing/pulling, standing, sitting, repetitive motions, walking, climbing, reaching, bending.
Exposure to extreme heat/cold, noise, and vibrations.
Fast-paced environment with multiple stimuli and frequent changes.
Skills in memory, reasoning, hearing, reading, analyzing, and logic.
