Job summary

Kansas Athletics in Lawrence, KS is seeking an Assistant AD – Development to generate philanthropic support with a focus on major gifts of $50,000 or more. You will steward a portfolio of 100+ leadership and annual donors to advance the department's top funding priorities.

You will identify, cultivate, solicit, and document activity in Salesforce, collaborate with KU Endowment and Alumni Association, and participate in events and travel as needed to meet annual goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of four years’ experience in development or closely related field, preference for intercollegiate athletic experience.
• Experience withannual and major giving campaigns.
• Effective communication, organizational and administrative skills.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills; both verbal and written.
• Must be self-motivated, well organized and demonstrate an ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, etc.).
• Ability to work well independently and in collaboration with staff as a team member.
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop an annual major gift solicitation plan with identification, cultivation and stewardship.
• Assist in preparing major gift proposals and coordinating pitches.
• Manage a portfolio of major gift and leadership donors (100+).
• Meet or exceed annual goals for visits, asks and commitments.
• Document conversations in Ascend/Salesforce with timely contact reports.
• Use donor software to identify leadership annual and major gift leads.
• Collaborate with KU Endowment and Alumni Association on prospect development and solicitation.
• Support cultivation and stewardship activities, including events for major donors.
