Job summary

Houston Christian University is seeking an Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance/Scholarships to support the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance and Director of Athletics in ensuring NCAA Division I compliance and education for coaches, students, and staff.

The role coordinates with financial aid on athletic scholarships, monitors activities for compliance, and interprets rules. The position requires travel, 40+ hours weekly, and a bachelor's (master's preferred) in a related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum three years NCAA Division I compliance experience.
• Working knowledge of compliance software and basic computer skills.
• Must be able to travel and work 40+ hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a representative of the University displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion.
• Coordinate with the office of financial aid to award/monitor athletic scholarships, including books/fees within NCAA guidelines.
• Assist in monitoring athletic department activities to ensure NCAA compliance.
• Educate various constituents on NCAA rules and provide rule interpretations.
• Assist in monitoring recruitment activities.
• Verify athletic schedules with respect to practice and playing seasons.
• Assist the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance with class drops/adds; participate in monthly conference calls.
