Job summary

American University Athletics is seeking a part-time student in Athletics Digital Media Communications. You will contribute to covering and promoting our sports programs, with both office and event hours, including nights and weekends.

The role offers hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to intercollegiate athletics for a student audience. The position requires availability for 10 hours per week, with a salary range of $18.40–$19.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a current American University student.
• Availability for nights and weekends as needed.
• Experience with athletics or media coverage is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with stats at athletics competitions (substitutions tracking, observe game actions).
• Support in-game media coverage (score graphics, clipping highlights for social media).
• Update season records and end-of-season records.
• Organize and label photos for archives and reports.
• Assist in writing previews/recaps, bios, and feature stories.
• Conduct historical research related to programs.
• Maintain and update the athletics website: AUEagles.com.
