Job summary

Lipscomb University in Nashville invites applications for a full-time Communications Assistant. You will serve as the primary media contact for assigned sports and implement publicity campaigns to engage fans across all programs.

Duties include maintaining the athletics website, producing game notes, and managing social media graphics with InDesign/Photoshop. You will travel for select events, cover gamedays, and assist with press releases.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year experience in an intercollegiate sports information office at the NCAA Division I or II level.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be excellent at editing copy.
• Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with web site maintenance (SIDEARM), and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop required).
• Familiarity with Stat Crew (softball, tennis) and Genius Sports programs (basketball, volleyball, soccer) and website content management systems (SIDEARM) is preferred.
• Must be self‑motivated with attention to detail and accuracy.
• A bachelor’s degree is required with a major in journalism, communications, public relations or related field.
• Evening and weekend hours required along with some travel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary media contact for assigned sports.
• Implement publicity campaigns to increase fan engagement across all sports.
• Assist with the maintenance of the department’s website, archival information, records, photos, statistics, etc., including the creation of web/social media graphics packages.
• Will help run social media accounts and handle gameday stats for assigned sports and others as needed.
• Writing and dissemination of press releases; layout and design of assigned game notes and game day programs using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
• Assist with day-to-day operations of the athletic communications office for home events; travel to select events if required; collect and maintain statistical information; update and maintain sports social media accounts; and other duties as assigned.
