Job summary

Sylvania in Idaho is seeking an Assistant Coach of Athletics to support a dynamic high school sports program. You will assist with training, mentoring, and developing student-athletes, while promoting teamwork and academic success.

The role requires strong communication, integrity, and a passion for sports, with duties including practices, games, and administrative tasks. You will work closely with the Head Coach and staff in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of coaching experience preferred, with a proven track record.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of student-athletes, coaches, and administrators.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, FERPA, NFHS, IHSAA, and WASD policies and regulations.
• CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement training programs for athletic teams.
• Assist in planning and conducting practices, games, and team activities.
• Provide coaching and feedback to student-athletes to improve skills and performance.
• Support student-athletes in academic success and achievements.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and trainings as required.
• Maintain equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship.
• Assist with scheduling, travel arrangements, and record-keeping.
• Serve as a role model and mentor for student-athletes.
