Job summary

NCSSM is seeking a Motor Pool Driver for Morganton, NC, to support student life transportation. The role involves maintaining vehicles, ensuring safety, and supporting athletic events with on-call driving as needed.

The position is temporary/part-time with a non-CDL and CDL earning structure, requiring a valid NC driver's license and experience with passenger vans. Working schedule runs September 2026 to May 2027.

Qualifications

• Experience driving a 12 & 15-passenger van.
• Valid NC Driver’s License required.
• Commercial driving experience for a school system, business or state agency beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean vehicle and check/maintain proper fluid levels.
• Report problems or needed repairs to the supervisor.
• Obey traffic laws and regulatory requirements in daily tasks.
• Recognize emergencies and follow procedures.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.
• Treat all passengers with courtesy and respect.
• Occasionally stay on site for games as on-call driver; drive for athletic events.
