Responsibilities

• Evaluates injuries during athletic events and administers initial treatment, determining if further medical care is needed.
• Coordinates referrals to physicians or other healthcare professionals to ensure timely care.
• Maintains accurate medical records, including treatment documentation and rehabilitation plans.
• Manages secondary insurance claim forms for student-athletes and reimbursable costs.
• Applies preventive and supportive taping, bracing, and splinting techniques as needed.
• Provides athletic training coverage for practices, competitions, and events with available supplies and equipment.
• Maintains medical clearances and required medical documentation for student-athletes.
• Educates student-athletes on injury prevention, wellness, and basic health principles.
• Collaborates with Strength & Conditioning staff to monitor and prevent injuries.
• Serves as a liaison for the Sports Medicine Office and assists with daily operations.
• Attends university events as required by Athletics Administration.
