Job summary

The University of New England in Maine is seeking an Athletic Trainer to support the welfare and athletic experience of varsity student-athletes. This 10-month, salaried exempt position includes year-round benefits and responsibilities ranging from injury management to prevention, documentation, and coordination with medical professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Athletic Training is required.
• Current NATA certification is required.
• Maine State ATC licensing (or ability to obtain) is required.
• CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain) is required.
• Availability for nights, early mornings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and coordinating athletic training services and programs.
• Provide athletic training services to student-athletes including prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehab.
• Manage injuries under physician direction and administer emergency first aid.
• Counsel athletes and prepare them for practices and contests with preventative taping and safety instructions.
• Maintain athletic training facilities and supervise student workers.
