Job description

Athletic Trainer - Sports Medicine - Full Time

Join our team as a certified athletic trainer, a licensed healthcare professional focused on the health and safety of student athletes and active individuals. This role involves injury prevention, evaluation, management, emergency response, rehabilitation, and facilitating safe return to play. The trainer will provide outreach services to high school and junior high school athletics under physician supervision.

Position Details: This is a 10-month contract position with the potential for a sign-on bonus of up to $30,000.

Qualifications: Must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree from a CAATE-accredited program, BOC certification in good standing, and current licensure in the primary state of practice. Dual licensure in NY and PA is preferred. Current BLS certification is required.

Experience: Experience working with adolescent athletes is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a professional demeanor with patients, families, coaches, and staff.
• Provide comprehensive care including injury prevention, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and referrals.
• Assess and manage sports injuries and illnesses, determining if higher care is needed.
• Communicate effectively with school officials, parents, and healthcare providers; develop and implement treatment plans.
• Document all care and injury data accurately in electronic medical records within specified timelines.
• Guide athletes on return-to-play protocols post-injury.
• Collaborate with medical staff and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Adhere to all relevant policies, guidelines, and ethical standards.

Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned, including equipment management and departmental responsibilities.
