Job summary

Spectrum Health is seeking an Athletic Trainer to support Niles-Buchanan YMCA athletic programs, primarily covering 2:00pm to 4:00pm practices and events. This role involves on-site treatment areas, taping, and preventative care for student-athletes.

The position requires CAATE-accredited education, BOC certification, and Michigan licensure upon hire, with potential summer and post-season responsibilities and on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• CAATE-approved athletic training program in bachelors or masters track.
• 1 year of relevant experience and competency-based orientation completed.
• BOC certification as Athletic Trainer and Michigan licensure required on hire.
• Basic Life Support from American Heart Association or Red Cross within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients as directed by physicians and other providers.
• Provide patient instruction as directed by physicians and other providers.
• Collect and monitor patient data and report needs to physicians.
• Document care consistent with guidelines.
• Assist with rehabilitation and conditioning of athletes under supervision.
