Qualifications

• Certification of athletic trainer to include appropriate affiliation hours, care courses as mandated by the Athletic Trainers Association.
• Must maintain certification in the state of KY.
• BLS certification – within 3 months of hire.
• Program development exercise a plus.
• Ability to perform detailed assignments and work under stress.
• Works cooperatively, communicated effectively.

Responsibilities

• The Athletic Trainer is responsible for performing athletic training duties according to ATC Practice Act related to sporting events to local area school athletes in practice and competition as directed.
• The Athletic Trainer will provide athletic training services to student athletes including prevention, first aid and treatment, evaluation and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
• The Athletic Trainer will communicate all injuries to the physician, physical therapists, and coaches.
• The Athletic Trainer will coordinate on-site continuing education programs, community presentations and year-round conditioning programs as requested.
• Primary work time will be spent at the area schools.
