Full Time, Varied Shifts, Varied hours depending on school schedules.

Minimum Age Requirement: 18 years of age or older

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  1. Education: Must be licensed in the State of Arkansas to practice Athletic Training. CPR certified.
  2. Experience: Sound clinical skills and demonstrated good judgment. Ability to problem-solve and plan effectively. Effective oral and written communication skills. Basic computer skills.
  3. Physical:
    • This is a safety sensitive position. Please see the St. Bernards Substance Abuse Policy for further information.
    • Requires physical strength to perform the essential functions of the job. Must be able to work the required schedule. Hearing within normal range. Frequent sitting, stooping, standing, walking, bending, pushing/pulling up to 250 pounds, and carrying up to 35 pounds, and lifting up to 100 pounds.
JOB SUMMARY

The Athletic Trainer facilitates the management and provision of care of injuries to a physically active person as defined in the state practice act with the direction of a licensed physician. The role includes rendering emergency care, developing injury prevention programs, and providing appropriate preventative devices for the physically active. It also involves assessment, management, treatment, and referral of conditions within the scope of a certified athletic trainer’s education. Use of modalities such as mechanical stimulation, heat, cold, light, air, water, electricity, sound, massage, and therapeutic exercises are included, along with reconditioning exercises and fitness programs. Effective communication is essential.
