Job summary

Penn Orthopaedics Exton is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide routine care of athletic injuries under physician supervision in a clinical/hospital setting. The role emphasizes observation, empathy, and professional conduct as you assist doctors with day‑to‑day duties.

Responsibilities include patient rooming, medical history collection, wound care, minor procedures support, and clinic preparation. A CAATE‑accredited program and AT certification are required, with a BA/BS and Master’s

Qualifications

  • Athletic trainer certification is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in athletic training or related field is expected.
  • CAATE-accredited master's program is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Care and prevention of athletic injuries in the clinical setting.
  • Standard patient care: room patients, collect medical history.
  • Answer phone calls, complete patient forms, and acquire authorizations.
  • Provide direct support to the physicians in minor procedures performed in office and joint aspirations/injections.
  • Provide wound care, stitch removal, and dressing changes.
  • Prepare clinics, update charts, and coordinate patient referrals.
  • DME fitting, casting patients and removal of casts.
  • Stock/Clean rooms daily and order supplies/medications as needed.

Entity: Clinical Care Associates Department: PSP Orthopaedics- CCH Location: Penn Orthopaedics Exton- 479 Thomas Jones Way Hours: Per Departmental Needs – Full Time Summary: Under the direct supervision of a Physician, the athletic trainer will provide routine care of athletic injuries for patients and assist doctors in the day-to-day duties of the clinical and hospital settings. Excellent observational skills, clinical empathy, and a high level of professionalism are vital for success in this role. Responsibilities:

Credentials:
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (Required)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
  • Education Specialization: Athletic Training; From a CAATE accredited Athletic Training Program at a 4-year college/University Equivalent Experience:
  • Master of Arts or Science
  • Education Specialization: CAATE accredited Master’s Program Equivalent Experience: 2+ years Athletic Training in a clinical setting
