Job summary

Pinehurst Surgical Clinic is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide athletic training services within the Physical Therapy Department and local high school programs. You will help prevent, evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate athletic injuries under physician direction and with therapists and staff.

Responsibilities include on-site event coverage, injury assessment, emergency response, and return-to-play coordination. Strong communication with coaches, families, and school personnel is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training is required.
• Current BOC certification and NC licensure or ability to obtain.
• CPR/BLS certification and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate athletic injuries and provide first aid and emergency response.
• Develop injury prevention, rehabilitation, and return-to-play programs under physician direction.
• Coordinate orthopedic/sports medicine care between PSC providers and athletes.
• Apply modalities, taping, bracing, and other training techniques.
• Educate athletes, families, and coaches on prevention and safe participation.
• Maintain EMR documentation and support patient care continuity.
• Provide high school event coverage and community outreach.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and regulatory standards.
