Job summary

Intermountain Health in Murray, Utah, is seeking a Part-time Athletic Trainer to provide medical coverage for athletes in community, youth or high school settings. The role requires on-field and in-training-room support, with schedules varying to match partner needs, including late nights.

The essential duties include rehabilitation, first-aide, room operations, and education on injury prevention. Collaboration with clinicians and strong communication with coaches and families are key.

Qualifications

• Current Athletic Training Licensure for the states in which you work.
• Credentialed as an Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification (BOC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Two years’ experience working in school/community setting as an Athletic Trainer.

Responsibilities

• Carries out rehabilitation program after athlete or patient has been evaluated and treatment plan has been established collaborating closely with other medical team providers including PT, and Physician.
• Assesses and administers first-aide to injured athletes during practices and sporting events, making appropriate physician referral when needed.
• Oversees the operation of the Athletic Training room ensuring supplies are maintained and that the space is clean, safe, and professional.
• Communicates effectively with coaches, school administration, parents, athletes, patients, physicians, therapists and other sports medicine team members.
• Maintains accurate records of evaluations, referrals, and treatments administered to patients or athletes.
• Provides education and training on injury prevention, health literacy, nutrition, and mental health wellbeing.
• Develops strong relationships with key stakeholders at assigned school or clinic (Physicians, Athletic Director, School Administration, Coaching Staff, Boosters, Parents).
• Ensures proper return-to-play criteria are met before allowing participation.
