Job summary

Altru Health System seeks an Athletic Trainer to coordinate patient care in the physician practice, including potential first-assistant duties in surgery. You will provide on-site coverage for events, teach residents and students, and support education on injury prevention and treatment plans.

You will work under Orthopedic physicians with credentialing through Altru Health System. Requires ND and MN board credentials and BLS certification, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Assists and educates patients per treatment plan.
  • Acts as first assistant under Orthopedic Physician supervision.
  • Performs casts, dressings, splints and orthopedic appliances.
  • Provides event coverage and injury prevention services.

Responsibilities

Washington St.,Grand Forks, ND 58201Pay Range: $24.02 - $36.03Summary:The Athletic Trainer works in the clinic setting coordinating and providing patient care in the physicians practice, which may include first assistant in surgery. The Athletic Trainer provides coverage for outreach events. This position works cooperatively and is actively engaged in the teaching of residents, athletic trainers, and other students.Essential Job Functions:Assists and provides patient education involving the whole patient care and treatment plan according to validated skill level.Performs and functions as a first assistant by demonstrating appropriate skill level of procedures under the supervision of the Orthopedic Physician.Applies and removes all types of casts, appropriate dressings, splints, traction and other orthopedic appliances and equipment.Provides event coverage and sports related education and training.Performs on-site injury assessment and treatment including first aid and Basic Life Support (BLS).
