Job summary

Gundersen Health System is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer for the La Crescent School District Athletics Department to provide on-site medical coverage for practices and events across 28 area schools, universities, and colleges.

You will triage injuries, perform clinical evaluations, deliver immediate care, and assist with prevention education and rehabilitation services, with potential weekend duties and travel across sites. Competitive benefits and pay apply.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine or a related field.
  • Board Certified Athletic Trainer (NATA BOC).
  • Licensed Athletic Trainer – Wisconsin (LAT) or Minnesota Board of Medical Practice (BOMP) Athletic Trainer licensure.
  • Current Infant‑Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple schools.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver on-site medical coverage during school district sports practices (3:00–6:00pm) and events, including weekend hours.
  • Triage injuries; conduct clinical evaluation and diagnosis of athletes.

Certified Athletic Trainer – Fulltime (40 hoursper week) – La Crescent School District Athletics Department.

Job Overview

Provide on‑site medical coverage for school athletic events, practices, and competitions across a network of 28 area schools, 19 high schools, 7 middle schools, Viterbo University and Western Technical College.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver on‑site medical coverage during school district sports practices (3:00–6:00pm) and events, including weekend hours.
  • Triage injuries; conduct clinical evaluation and diagnosis of athletes.
  • Provide immediate injury care, follow‑up treatment, prevention education, and rehabilitative services.
  • Support school route rotation twice weekly and possible clinic hours.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for all medical encounters.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine or a related field.
  • Board Certified Athletic Trainer (NATA BOC).
