Job summary

Thompson High School is seeking a dedicated Certified Athletic Trainer to provide injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and patient education services. The role includes collaboration with healthcare professionals and supporting overall wellness, with a flexible, varying schedule to meet operational needs.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care and education. New graduates are welcome, with mentoring provided.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field OR Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training with 3+ years of experience.
• New graduates are welcome; mentoring will be provided.
• NATA BOC certification and Alabama licensure are required or must be obtainable per state.
• Proficiency with MS Office and documentation systems is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for athletic injuries.
• Coordinate patient care with healthcare professionals and educate patients and families on treatment plans.
• Make independent decisions impacting patient health and quality of life.
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with billing procedures.
• Participate in performance improvement, education programs, and community outreach.
• Support patient care under supervision of a licensed therapist or physician as needed.
