Job summary

UMBC Athletics is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care to student-athletes and help prevent, evaluate, treat, rehab, and return-to-sport injuries. You will work with team physicians, athletic trainers, sports performance professionals, and other health care team members to support student-athlete health and performance.

The role supports a collaborative Sports Medicine and Sports Performance department, with a focus on professional growth,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training or Sports Medicine from a CAATE accredited program.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
• Eligible for Maryland licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary athletic training coverage for assigned teams.
• Evaluate and manage injuries and illnesses within licensure scope.
• Develop individualized treatment and return-to-sport plans.
• Maintain electronic medical records and coordinate referrals.
• Collaborate with team physicians, trainers, and performance staff.
