Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System seeks an Athletic Trainer II to support Track & Field student athletes at the Wagnon-Parrott Athletic Center. The role collaborates with coaches, physicians and sport performance staff to optimize health and performance, with responsibilities including injury prevention, evaluation and rehabilitation planning.

Responsibilities cover clinical care, medical record maintenance, education and supervision of trainees, and participation in weekend/after-hours

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Athletic Training, Physical Education, Health or related field from an accredited college within 90 days of the hire date.
2+ years of experience as an athletic trainer.
Licensed Athletic Trainer (AT) - State Board of Healing Arts within 90 Days; BOC ATC certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

Provide athletic training services and supervision under the direction of a Team Physician.
Coordinate clinical diagnostics, testing, referrals and medical records for student athletes.
Manage emergency care, participation decisions and return-to-play protocols with Team Physicians.
Educate patients, coaches and staff; supervise athletic training students and develop continuing education plans.
