Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System seeks an Athletic Trainer II for daytime, full-time coverage to support Track & Field student athletes. You will provide athletic training services under a Team Physician, coordinate exams, referrals, and return-to-play decisions, and maintain complete medical records.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in athletic training or related field; hire within 90 days.
  • 2+ years of experience as an athletic trainer.
  • Licensed Athletic Trainer (State Board) within 90 days.
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC ATC) upon hire.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

  • Provide athletic training services and supervision under a Team Physician.
  • Document complete medical records for student athletes.
  • Coordinate referrals to physicians, dietitians, psychologists and counseling services.
  • Perform medical testing and sport science assessments as directed.
  • Manage athletic facility emergency action plans and on-site care.
  • Communicate injury status with coaches and sports performance staff.
  • Deliver formal and informal wellness education.

Education

Master's Degree in Athletic Training or related field
Licensed Athletic Trainer (State Board of Healing Arts)
Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC ATC)
