Job summary

Friends University in Wichita, KS is seeking an Athletic Trainer to support student athletes and manage operations in the Athletic Training Room. The role includes assessment and treatment of injuries, with some recommendations for medical care as needed.

Work hours average 50–60 per week, with evening and weekend availability required. A 4-year degree is required, and licensure in Kansas is required or pending.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in physical education and/or sports medicine is required.
• Master’s degree in related field preferred.
• NATABOC certification is required.
• Kansas State Board of Healing Arts licensure is required.
• Two years’ professional experience at college level preferred.
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
• CPR/First Aid Certification required.
• CPR/First Aid Instructor Preferred.
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with word-processing and database software (Microsoft Office preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of operations and activities of the Athletic Training Room.
• Assist in the assessment and treatment of injuries suffered by student athletes.
• Recommend other medical treatment as needed.

Skills

Two years' college-level experience

NATABOC certification

CPR/First Aid Certification

Excellent written, oral and Interper./

Education
