Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an Athletic Trainer to assess, treat, and manage care for athletes and patients of all ages in clinical and event settings. You will provide direct athletic training services, emergency care, and education on treatment plans, collaborating with schools and clubs as assigned.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Athletic Training, state licensure within 6 months, BOC certification, and BLS. EMR proficiency and continuous practice updates are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or in a related field.
• Licensed Athletic Trainer within 6 months (eligible if licensed in another state or passed the exam) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
• Certified Athletic Trainer – Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC).
• BLS within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Assess patient compliance with and response to prescribed plans of care, including therapeutic outcomes.
• Assess patient's learning needs regarding normal functioning, diagnosis, treatment, self-management, and access to health-care resources.
• Deliver physical care to athletes following medical direction, monitoring response and results during care.
• Design and implement individualized plans of care.
• Document evaluations and plans of care per department policy, including goals, treatment modifications, and patient responses.
• Evaluate and assess referred athletes.
• Implement effective treatment methods to achieve treatment goals.
• Instruct athletes and/or family members in performance of treatment, activities, or home care.
• Provide athletic training services to contracted high schools, club events, and/or junior colleges as assigned.
• Provide emergency care, including CPR.
• Take responsibility for daily event coverage and clinical provision of care.
• Understand EMR system operation for clinical patient care.
• Maintain and update knowledge of new AT practices and current literature to sustain and improve athlete care.
