Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center in Ohio seeks an Athletic Trainer to fit and educate patients on prescribed DME and orthoses, coordinate insurance authorizations, and ensure timely delivery of equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field from an accredited program is required.
• Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field is preferred.
• 3–5 years of demonstrated experience as an Athletic Trainer or related field.
• Current license to practice Athletic Training in Ohio; BOC certification preferred; BLS required.
• Proficiency in EMR systems preferred; knowledge of safety protocols and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Fit patients with prescribed durable medical equipment (DME) and orthoses, including education, modification and proper use.
• Participates in all aspects of the DME program, including insurance verification, billing, and patient guidance. Obtain insurance authorizations, verify benefits, and explain coverage to patients.
• Schedule DME appointments and send referrals to vendors per insurance guidelines. Coordinate timely delivery of equipment, including surgical needs, and send referrals as necessary.
• Complete and update patient forms; review EMR for progress notes and stat orders; prepare charge tickets. Enter DME charges with correct modifiers; dispense equipment through inventory system.
