Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Fit patients with prescribed DME and orthoses, including education, modification and proper use.
• Participates in all aspects of the DME program, including insurance verification, billing, and patient guidance.
• Obtain insurance authorizations, verify benefits, and explain coverage to patients.
• Schedule DME appointments and send referrals to vendors per insurance guidelines.
• Coordinate timely delivery of equipment, including surgical needs, and send referrals as necessary.
• Complete and update patient forms; review EMR for progress notes and stat orders; prepare charge tickets.
• Enter DME charges with correct modifiers; dispense equipment through inventory system.
