Job summary

HTU is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide on-site athletic coverage for practices and games, both home and away. You will receive assignments from the Athletic Director and/or physicians and maintain comprehensive medical records for all athletes.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, NATA-BOC certification, and current KY licensure, with CPR preferred. Proficiency in MS Office and equipment operation is essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Athletic Training from an accredited program.
• Certification by the National Athletic Training Association - Board of Certification or equivalent.
• Current Kentucky license as Athletic Trainer by the KY Board of Medical Licensure.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
• Ability to perform simple calculations.
• Self-sufficiency and excellent communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of operating modalities and sports-related equipment such as e-stim/ultrasound machine, ice machine, whirlpool, water boys, Normatec, Compex, and Theragun.

Responsibilities

• Providing coverage and on-site care for athletic practice sessions and game events, both home and away.
• Receiving sport coverage assignments from the Athletic Director and/or Orthopedic/Sports Medicine Physician.
• Interpreting data and procedures to address non-routine or diverse problems not clearly defined by procedures.
• Conducting athlete intake assessments and maintaining medical records for all athletes.
• Coordinating with management to maintain equipment inventory.
• Maintaining athletic training rooms to provide the best experience for student athletes.
• Communicating daily with co-workers, supervisors, student workers, athletes, parents, school administrators, coaches, physical therapists, doctors, and office staff via email, telephone, and in person.
• Performing work independently with direct accountability, referring complex issues to supervisors.
• Performing administrative duties as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
