The Athletic Trainer is a full-time staff position within the Department of Athletics at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. This role supports 22 NCAA Division II sports and reports to the Head Athletic Trainer.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Entry Level Masters Degree in Athletic Training.
  • NATABOC certified and licensed or eligible for licensure in Tennessee.
  • Current CPR / AED certification and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission of LMU and the Department to faculty, staff, students and the community.
  • Foster effective working relationships among faculty, staff and students while following policy.
  • Provide comprehensive intercollegiate athletic coverage and document medical records per guidelines.
  • Supervise athletic training students as a Preceptor and monitor their progress.
  • Support drug testing/education program and assist with staff hiring/training.

The Athletic Trainer is a full-time staff position within the Department of Athletics. This individual reports to and works under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer. This positions sport coverage will be assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer, other duties will include assistance in the Athletic Training Room coverage for the 22 NCAA Division II sports that compete within the South Atlantic Conference


Required Qualifications


Bachelors or Entry Level Masters Degree in Athletic Training; *NATABOC certified; *licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Tennessee; *current CPR / AED certification; valid drivers license


Preferred Qualifications


Masters degree in Athletic Training or related field; 1-3 years experience working with contact sport, preferably in a collegiate setting

The Athletic Trainer will actively promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University, the School of AlliedHealth Sciences, and the Department of Athletic Training to all faculty, staff, students, and the broader community.

The Athletic Trainer will ensure the delivery of safe and effective clinical experiences for athletic training students by supervising them during intercollegiate athletic team assignments, serving as a role model, and monitoring their progress as an approved Preceptor.

In addition, the Athletic Trainer will explore career opportunities for students and support their preparation for the Board of Certification ( BOC ) exam.

The Athletic Trainer will provide comprehensive intercollegiate athletic coverage as assigned, including staffing the athletic training facilities, preventing, evaluating, treating, and rehabilitating athletic injuries and illnesses, and documenting all relevant medical records in compliance with legal and institutional guidelines

The role requires commitment to best practices in athletic training, incorporating evidencebased clinical practices that prioritize the health and well‑being of student‑athletes.

The Athletic Trainer will work closely with the Head Athletic Trainer to support all aspects of the University s medical program, including budget and supply management, equipment safety and maintenance, and scheduling physical examinations and medical referrals.

Responsibilities also include assisting with the development and implementation of the University s drug testing and education program, and helping to coordinate the hiring, training, and supervision of Athletic Trainers and Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainers

Additional duties involve scheduling sports coverage, managing clinical responsibilities, and ensuring compliance with South Atlantic Conference, NCAA , and other governing body regulations.

Finally, the Athletic Trainer will maintain professional certification through ongoing development and education and will perform other duties as assigned in support of the University s mission and student success.
