Position Summary
Recognizes, manages, and rehabilitates injuries to professional, amateur and recreational athletes. Provides techniques for prevention of injuries and instructs/trains on safe exercise techniques.
Reports to: Rehab Services Director
Responsibilities of the Position
Implements treatment and rehabilitation programs under the supervision of a physician.
Prepares athletes/patients for practice or competition.
Evaluates and manages injuries and determines whether a referral is necessary. Maintains a medical file on each athletes/patients and acts as a liaison between the physician and the athletes/patients.
Develops conditioning programs for injured and non-injured athletes/patients.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree is required.
Certifications/Licenses
Athletic Training certification/ BOC certified and state certification or registration is required.
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification with the American Heart Association is required within 2 weeks of hire.
Required Skills
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
