Responsibilities

In our mission to deliver the highest quality, most cost-effective care to the communities we serve, Dignity Health has formed a comprehensive, community-based sports medicine program in partnership with the Sports Medicine Program. This program provides highly qualified athletic trainers to our community's schools. The position involves providing athletic training services to student athletes under the supervision of a team physician or through written referrals from a physician. Responsibilities include managing and caring for injuries to physically active individuals as defined by state practice laws, in collaboration with licensed physicians. Athletic Trainers will serve various high schools within partnered districts and work with team physicians on:

• Injury/Illness Prevention and Wellness
• Clinical Evaluation and Diagnosis
• Immediate and Emergency Care
• Treatment and Rehabilitation
• Organization and Professional Health and Wellbeing

Qualifications

Minimum

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited athletic training education program (e.g., CAATE)
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Preferred

• Master's degree in athletic training or related field from an accredited program
• Experience in secondary school or collegiate athletic training
• Knowledge of AIA and NFHS sports rules
